Jens post reminded me of this. I was sitting on the floor in the living room, and Haven was walking around. I had just finished eating something and had a small crumb on my black shirt. Haven was walking past me to his room, not paying an ounce of attention to me. He then glances over, does a double take at the crumb on my shirt and shouts "MESS!". He then proceeded to reach out while diving over my legs... totally missing the crumb by like a foot... and crawls over me, finally getting a grasp of the crumb. The crumb then crumbles even further. It was awesome to see him try to pick up all the little crumbs one by one with a single hand while mumbling "mess.. mess.. mess..". Finally he finished and looked up at me and with a sigh of relief he says "no mess...".
this kid is hilarious... seriously.

Jen, Phil & Ted. A match made in heaven
Since the moment Haven was born (it feels like), this little fairy has been whispering in my ear about this fancy, expensive, mother's dream of a stroller called the phil & ted stroller. The link i just posted will take you to the cheapest model. The model my beloved wife has finally acquired. She has scraped all her pennies together, had a yard sale, cleaned my wallet weekly... basically everything short of standing in front of the Shop-Rite with a tin can... well i have no proof she DIDN'T do that.... Anyway, she raised the money and splurged it on this stroller fit for kings... babies... Seeing her face when she got it was identical to seeing haven's eyes when you mention peetzees (pizza) or ice team (ice cream) to him. It was cute. She called me at work and told me it had arrived, and that i needed to come home right after and put it together. Of course i got home and it was already assembled, and i got an "I JUST COULDN'T WAIT". She modeled it for me, showed me how easy it was to move around, and finally she showed me how to collapse it (after 20 minutes of fumbling with it =P). We took it out last week, and i gotta say it was the smoothest ride ever. It's like the ferrari of strollers imo (in my opinion). the only thing i think it's lacking is a fold out DVD player, but i'm sure that's an attachment. Anyway.... congrats babe! You deserve it!
Mark it down in the books!
Our softball team got it's first win today! we are now 1-5! or 6... not sure. It's pretty sad i agree... there's only so much 1 man can do. The team has gotten WAY better since the first game i played with them... TRUST ME! the last 2 games we were just unlucky. today, everyone played great! With my new trusty sidekick (my new bat) i was up 4 times and got on base all 4. 2 ground balls for singles. 1 deep fly ball over the short fence (normally a HR, but in this instance anything over the fence was a double), and my last one was a short ball over shortstop. 4 at bats. 5 bases. 5 rbis. It was a good day. And i only got a scrape on my arm from sliding into 3rd! It's a Christmas Miracle! Anyway... hopefully we will have the same luck going into the last half of the season. I'll keep you updated.
My new bat

Here are a couple pics of my new softball bat that i got for like 60% off at sports authority. Originally marked at $149.99, rang up at $68. Plus an additional 20% off and a $25 coupon of order > $100. It was funny b/c we weren't expecting for our order to be that cheap so we had to go back and shop 2 additional times to get our total over $100. Entire order was a a softball bat, golf glove, 3 tank tops for the lady, a mini basketball (for the H), a bag of chocolate covered preztels (which we devoured in the car) and a king size reeses. Total cost $101.26. not bad. Did you know sports authority sold baby strollers?

Da Bears!
This isn't the exact bear who has been tormenting my beloved wife for the past 2 weeks. nor is it one of it's 2 brothers or mother. But i'm sure somehow the bear in this pic is related...It seems as if the bears around here think they are one of the 90 cats that roam the neighborhood... they walk up and down the streets during the day. Looking for food. Looking for fun. Looking for trouble. Yesterday we had the opportunity to warn our neighbors kids playing in the yard that a bear was approaching them from the woods behind them. We also got to chase a mother and 3 cubs off our property (believe me i didnt see the cubs until after the fact), and finally, we got to hear our other neighbor screaming at the top of his lungs running after one who snagged his can down the road. That one was actually amusing...
Anyway... it seems as though these bears are not caring about our agreement. You know, like the one on Lost. Where the Dharma Initiative is allowed to live on the island, but aren't allowed to cross the line or make themselves visible to the others by any means... THAT AGREEMENT! Well hopefully they start respecting the people and their garbage around here, before someone seriously gets hurt, because if it comes down to that, it's probably going to be lights out for them. We have some bear mace and an air horn coming from Amazon, so that should hopefully hold them off! If those don't work, I'm breaking out my paintball gun and am going to get some practice.
wish us luck!
